I ordered a whole bunch of stuff for my DE shave. This is the only item I am not happy with. The razor will not stay put on this stand. The brush side is fine. It is a horrible angle to hang something that heavy on. I am going to a piercing parlor with the hopes of purchasing the rubber stoppers for gauges. I believe if I find the right size, for the end of the razor side, it will stay put. I tried plumbing washers but smallest ones just missed the correct side. I payed just as much trying them as I did for this item. When and if I do find the correct rings, I will probably be satisfied. Regardless that is a lot of trouble to go through for something that should work right in the first place. I advise anyone who purchases this product to be prepared to do the same and then maybe it will not be as much as a hassle because it is an inexpensive stand.

The blade fit the Remington SF3 - the screen didn't. But I couldn't find it anywhere else, so I had to take the chance. Don't think it was worth [...] bucks, though. I've bought entire razors that cost less than half of what this blade/screen set cost, and they worked as well as the Remington razor it was supposed to fit. But, the Remington's rechargeable and saves on batteries, so I'm using the new blade with the old screen and it seems to shave pretty good...

I ordered this shaver from amazon because I had read great reviews for it. Upon receiving it however it would not charge or power up at all when the power supply was attached. Seeing as it is not working I would like to return it to amazon but because the cleaning solution is flammable they will not accept returns. I currently have brought this item to a local repair facility to which Braun has referred me. I will update this review with any new information as it becomes available.

I took this item into the local repair facility referred to me a couple weeks ago. This is an independent store that Braun uses to handle their repairs. They examined my kit and found that it is indeed a power supply issue. They told me they had ordered the part and to call back in a couple days. A couple days later I called and they said call back in a week, they still hadn't received them. I called back this week and they still haven't received the power supply...

Too bad you can't return this. This is the worst product I have probably ever purchased. The blades are dull, nothing gets cut and if it does, its just as likely to be your skin. Good Razor
This has been a great razor so far. I had been with a short beard most of the time in the last few years. I had been using the cheaper Schick and Gillette 3-4 blade razors if I wanted a clean shave in those years. I mow my beard down with my Wahl hair clippers and shave. The cheaper razors always get clogged and are dull after that first shave. So far with this, I am still on the first razor that comes with the handle. I started clean shaving once a week and touching up the edges with an electric in between. After I mow down my beard and clean shave this razor has not clogged. I had used it 3 more times since and it still seemed to be sharp as new on the last shave, but I think i'll go ahead and switch to a new razor next time since its been a month . I should have bought a quality razor like this instead of saving a few cents all a long. The difference is huge.

I've had 3 or 4 of these now and like the way they work: easy to handle, effective trimming. At some point, a year or so into their life, they just seem to die. Contact becomes intermittent and then fails entirely. Maybe with something this inexpensive that's tolerable, but in the middle of a vacation, with your nose hairs becoming an issue, it's inconvenient.

Remember to check that this is the right kit for your shaver. In stores (Target/Walmart) I have seen/purchased this blade and cartridge kit for around $35, so when I saw it for less ($25) I knew it was a good deal.

If you use shavers its good to have spare blades handy, one morning mine went "click" and would not turn back on I quickly swapped the blades and it was back to normal. Afterwards I saw that the old blade had worn down so much that it got jammed in the comb above the blades.

I debated what final rating to give this shaver. As a shaver the head feels cheap. Shaving with it isn't very comfortable like my previous shavers I've used. It's a lot louder and there is no charge or battery indicator. As far as the other attachments they are very solid and well put together. The trimming options work very well and have different guides so you can trim and keep everything at the same length. I wanted something that versitale in many areas so I didn't have to keep grabing different devices when cleaning up, this razor does give you that. After shavings a few more times with it I rated it 3 starts because the razor it's self is not that impressive. I will keep it just for the grooming attachements, only because after sales at Sears I only paid $25 for it.

... I just wanted to make sure you read it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this product except that it get's expensive over time (about $8 per month average). Want save on cleaning solution? Roll your own! Go to Ace Hardware and get a gallon can of denatured alcohol (DNA - $10). Go to the grocery store and get a bottle of lemon extract ($1-$2). Optionally, go to your wife's night stand and get her bottle of silicone lubricant. The recipe is 2/3c DNA, 2t lemon extract, 2 drops silicon lubricant (optional). Rinse and agitate reservoir in warm (not hot!) water and let air dry (I use one while the other dries). I've been refilling mine for six years now and I've gone through 3 cans of DNA and about a dozen bottles of lemon extract and spent about $50 total (I don't do the silicone - my wife uses water based lubricant - lol). Of course I also replace my blade and cartridge twice a year (I've got a TOUGH beard).
